Our Chamber
Coastal HyperbaRx boasts the first modular, multiplace chamber on the Gulf Coast, complete with individual pressurized and pneumatic seating, an open design, and personal entertainment options. Our custom-built design allows for a safe, non-invasive, and anxiety-free treatment experience for both children and adults.
Our multiplace chamber allows treatment for up to 3 patients per dive, with customized settings that allow the patient to reach the prescribed depths recommended by their physician. An open design allows for reduced claustrophobia compared to typical hospital or monoplace chambers, while pneumatic seating within the chamber allows for optimal comfort.

Dr. Sexton
Dr. Sexton is well known for his revitalization efforts to Pediatric programs on the Gulf Coast, including his invaluable work with special needs children. However, his interest in Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care was motivated by his own diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy. After personally experiencing the physical benefits of recreational scuba diving, he pursued the study of hyperbaric medicine while completing medical school and residency in the field of Pediatrics. He has since developed HBOT programs all over the world.
Dr. Sexton is board certified in Hyperbaric medicine and is the President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine – one of only two national professional organizations dedicated to serving a medical specialty society. In addition to being an approved training provider, he also developed courses and regulations currently in use by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Technologies.
Dr. Sexton serves as Medical Director in numerous national and international locations for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine treating both pediatrics and adults. As a member of the American Professional Wound Care Association, he has achieved the Status of “Master” (MAPWCA), a designation initiated in 2010 to honor key opinion leaders who have impacted wound care through education, research, and advocacy. These honorees are selected by an appointed APWCA committee and then approved by the Board of Directors.
Dr. Sexton holds certifications from the American Board of Wound Healing (ABWH) as a Certified Hyperbaric Wound Specialist, and of Added Qualification in Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care.
In 2023, he won the Eric P Kindwall Award for Excellence in Hyperbaric Medicine.

Dr. Christopher Bowen
Dr. Christopher Bowen initially became aware of HBOT during his time with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection when he was SCUBA certified. He would go on to get his Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular biology and MD from Tulane in New Orleans, where he graduated Cum Laude in the Golden Key Honour Society, and with the Gold Humanism in Medicine Award respectively. He then attended the Family Medicine residency program at The University of South Alabama where he graduated while earning honors for teaching his underclassmen.
During residency he met Dr. Tyler Sexton, and through their friendship, was exposed to the advancing health care applications and impressive results achieved via hyperbaric medicine. The dream of opening a hyperbaric center was born, but would require time to mature.
After residency, Dr. Bowen began practicing Emergency Medicine in Northern Alabama, until he moved to the Mississippi Gulf coast where he has served the community since 2016. He has served in multiple hospitals across the Coast, and is currently licensed in 5 states. He also made multiple trips to the Caribbean, working with Dr. Sexton, and the non-profit company Spero, providing free services to the inhabitants of Grenada and the surrounding Grenadine Isles.
He is certified in Hyperbaric Medicine, and a fellow of the APWCA. Seeing the need for quality outpatient hyperbaric care, he is proud to take on the role of CEO and owner of Coastal HyperbaRx.
Dr. Thomas Geisenheimer
Dr. Geisenheimer attended Medical School at William Carey University – College of Osteopathic Medicine and was part of the first graduating class in 2014. He did his formal residency training in Family Medicine at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO. During residency he began working in the field of Emergency Medicine. After graduation from residency in 2017, he moved to the Gulf Coast and continued his work in emergency rooms across hospitals in Mississippi and Alabama. Outside of work, he is a certified recreational and technical diver with additional training in caves, deep water, and closed-circuit rebreather diving. Looking for a way to combine his passion for diving and his medical experience, he found his way into the field of Hyperbaric Medicine. He is currently licensed in Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi.
Dr. Jason Black
Dr. Jason Black attended Mississippi State University where he would receive his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, graduating Summa cum Laude. He would go on to medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and then Emergency Medicine residency at UMMC where he would graduate as Chief Resident of his class earning the Nurses’ Appreciation Award among his fellow residents. Dr. Black has been an Emergency Medicine physician on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for the past 13 years and was the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Singing River Health System for over 7 years.
He first became interested in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) after spending time with Dr. Tyler Sexton during Dr. Sexton’s time as Chief of Pediatrics. Dr. Black has grown in friendship through the years with Dr. Sexton and Dr. Bowen and has had the privilege of embarking on several medical mission trips to Grenada and spending time with Dr. Sexton in Curacao training in HBOT. Dr. Black personally received multiple HBOT treatment sessions after shoulder surgery.
Dr. Black is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, is certified in Hyperbaric Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association. After seeing first hand the incredible benefits and life-changing outcomes of HBOT, he is excited to join Dr. Bowen and Dr. Sexton as we pursue unprecedented high-quality outpatient HBOT on the Gulf Coast and beyond.
