Pre-dive Consultations and Physicals:

Each patient must have a consultation and physical before scheduling HBOT, similar to a sports physical, but a chest x-ray is also required. This can be obtained through your primary care physician, or through Coastal HyperbaRx (excluding imaging). Appointments for a pre-dive consultation and physical take approximately 15-30 minutes.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy:

HBOT appointments are commonly divided between two groups:

– Approved diagnoses are those which can be filed with insurance.
– Off-label diagnoses cannot be filed under insurance at this time, yet have shown success or obvious benefit in clinical trials.

The following indications are medically approved and can be filed with your insurance:

Diabetic & Other Non-healing Wounds

Air or Gas Embolism

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Skin Grafts or Flaps

Crush Injury, Compartment Syndrome

Decompression Sickness (“The Bends”)

Enhancement of Healing in Chronic Wounds

Thermal Burns

Gas Gangrene

Intracranial Abscess

Osteomyelitis

Radiation Injury

Refractory Osteomyelitis

Idiopathic Sudden Hearing Loss (Meniere’s Disease)

Exceptional Anemia

Avascular Necrosis

Off-label Indications:

HBOT is also used for a variety of health conditions that are not yet covered by insurance, but are safe, and have demonstrated success or obvious benefit in trials, such as:

Athletic injury/ recovery/performance
Cerebral Palsy
Mild traumatic brain injury, including concussion
Post concussive syndrome
Peripheral neuropathy
PTSD other neurological disorders
Dementia
Autism
Chemotherapy
Chronic pain and inflammation
Inflammatory bowel disease
Crohn’s Disease
Ulcerative colitis
Diverticulitis
Fibromyalgia
Lyme Disease
Multiple Sclerosis
Diabetes
Pre and post-surgical procedures
Cosmetic surgery
Hip replacement
Shoulder surgery
Ligament repair
Dental surgery
Stroke

Although these conditions have not yet been approved to file under insurance, Coastal HyperbaRx is happy to provide services for these conditions, as well as offer payment arrangements for self-pay clientele.

Neurocatch

Similar to an EEG, Neurocatch is an FDA approved medical device which establishes a baseline level of cognitive function for neurological disorders, such as Traumatic Brain Injuries, concussive blasts, dementia, and mental health conditions such as PTSD. This device, utilized at periodic visits, allows our physicians to objectively trend observable improvements and detect changes in cognitive functions in conjunction with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Snapshot

Snapshot is an FDA approved medical device which measures tissue oxygen saturation and hemoglobin levels. This specialized near infrared spectrum camera is the most advanced technology in wound care treatment, and provides baseline tissue oxygenation levels, as well as the ability to track improvement over periodic visits.

Research Studies

Coastal HyperbaRx believes in the mission of bringing safe, non-invasive, therapies to those who could benefit most, but whose conditions are not yet FDA approved. To reach this goal, more research is required. We are currently working in conjunction with physicians, (on a local, national, and international level), to provide rigorous, standardized studies that could further the goals of bringing life-changing treatments to those in need. If you are interested in these studies, please contact PatientServices@CoastalHBOT.
